Flow Control Systems

Precise, dependable control for water infrastructure—from dams and spillways to treatment plants.

ELBATTAT Holding designs and manufactures hydromechanical flow-control systems for canals, pumping stations, water intakes, treatment plants, reservoirs, and industrial facilities. Our gates are engineered to regulate water levels, isolate flow, support maintenance operations, and provide emergency shut-off when required.

Radial Gates

Radial gates, also known as tainter gates, are heavy-duty hydraulic steel structures used in large canals, barrages, dams, and high-capacity flow-control applications. They regulate or isolate water flow through a curved gate leaf rotating around a fixed axis.

These gates are engineered for high hydrostatic loads and can be operated manually or through electric actuators, depending on site requirements. Their curved geometry enables efficient load transfer and reliable movement, making them suitable for large openings and continuous hydraulic operation.

Penstocks

Penstocks, or slide gates, are vertical flow-control gates used on wall openings, channels, and pipe connections to regulate or isolate water flow. They are commonly used in pumping stations, treatment plants, irrigation structures, and industrial water systems.

Penstocks are designed with a gate leaf, frame, sealing system, spindle, guides, and operating mechanism. They can be supplied with manual operation or electric actuators for more precise control and easier operation in large or frequently used installations.

Adjustable Weir Gates

Adjustable weir gates are precision flow-control systems used to regulate water level and discharge rate by adjusting the crest height. Unlike conventional vertical gates, adjustable weirs allow water to pass over the top edge, providing controlled overflow and stable upstream level management.

They are suitable for canals, channels, treatment facilities, and hydraulic structures where accurate level control is required.

Stop Log Gates

Stop log gates are modular isolation barriers used for maintenance, emergency shut-off, and temporary flow isolation. The system consists of multiple stacked logs lowered into guide frames to create a watertight barrier.

Stop logs are typically handled using a dedicated lifting beam and can be designed with the required number of sections, sealing arrangement, material thickness, and guide-frame configuration according to hydrostatic loads and site conditions.
